About Premium Island Vacations
Since 2005, we've been the St. Barts specialists, pioneering the island's first professional concierge service, then launching Premium Island Vacations villa rentals in 2009. We know one island, and we know it better than anyone.
Our Story
In 2005, we founded Premium IV, St. Barts' first full-time professional concierge company. Four years later, in 2009, we launched Premium Island Vacations to bring that same level of service to villa rentals. We started because villa guests had nowhere to turn for help once they arrived. Today we handle over 450 properties and help hundreds of guests each year.
James Daltrey came from receptive tourism with major travel companies. Vincent Chevalier spent years in Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels across France, the UK, and the Caribbean. When we started Premium IV, villa guests on St. Barts were mostly left to figure things out on their own. We built the service we knew they needed.
By 2009, our reputation for concierge work led naturally to villa rentals. Clients kept asking us to handle everything (finding the villa, booking it, arranging transfers, stocking the fridge) and we did. Premium Island Vacations was born. We handle every step from your first inquiry to your departure, backed by our on-island presence and two decades of relationships.
Today, we represent over 450 villas across St. Barts, everything from small beachfront houses to large hilltop properties. But we've never lost sight of what made us different from the start: we're not a faceless booking platform. We're two people who've dedicated two decades to one eight-square-mile island, and we're personally invested in every guest's experience.
Why St. Barts, and Only St. Barts
We don't cover any other island in the Caribbean. We don't sell packages to Turks and Caicos or Anguilla. St. Barts is the only destination we represent, because it's the only place we truly know.

We've walked through the properties we represent. We know which have the best sunset views, which work for families with young children, which are actually within walking distance of town (and which require a 4x4).
We Know Everyone
The restaurant owners, the taxi drivers, the boat captains, the best massage therapists, the villa managers. Twenty years of relationships mean we can open doors and solve problems that others can't.
We're Actually There
Vincent is based on St. Barts full-time. When something goes wrong (a flight delay, a villa issue, an emergency) you have someone on the ground who can act immediately, not a call center in another timezone.
We Speak the Language
Both of us are bilingual in French and English. On a French island where many service providers speak limited English, this matters more than you might expect.

James Daltrey
Founder & Owner • UK-based
Former Civil Engineer turned tourism professional in 1996. Degree in French and Russian from University of Sussex (1992-1996). Previously worked for major travel companies including Miki Travel and Gullivers Travel Associates before founding Premium IV in 2005.
Focus: Sales & Reservations
Expertise: Over 25 years in tourism, creating customized luxury vacations. Bilingual in French and English.

Hospitality veteran with experience at Georges Blanc (3 Michelin stars, France), Bailiffscourt Hotel (UK), Simply Heathcotes (UK), Alexander House Hotel (UK), Jacky's Bistro (Chicago), and stewarding on luxury yachts across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Atlantic. Previously Customer Service Agent at Sibarth (2003-2005) and Restaurant Manager at Hotel El Sereno, St. Barts (2002-2003).
