Villa Open Space St Barts
Description
Open Space: Modern Serenity in Petit Cul de Sac
Open Space begins with light and air. It’s a bright, uncluttered modern box where the view is the central fixture, framed by large sliding glass doors that erase the line between inside and out. The atmosphere is serene and expansive, defined by an intentional lack of walls.
Life here flows with an easy rhythm, from the neutral living spaces to the bold color accents in the private quarters, all leading to a terrace dotted with white pebbles and green lawns above Petit Cul de Sac. This indoor-outdoor connection is the villa’s central feature. You won’t find formality or unneeded partitions here. Instead, expansive, open-plan living areas allow for effortless movement, where the boundless horizon of ocean and sky remains the enduring vista. The entire home is oriented around this blend, making the move from a cool interior to the sun-warmed terrace as simple as opening a door.
Step into the great room. It’s an open-plan space that combines living, dining, and kitchen areas under a high ceiling. A large L-shaped sofa faces the view. From here, you can witness the evening's vibrant palette wash over the ocean and the expanse above. The room is equipped with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV with Apple TV, Dish Network, and Orange TV, and a Bose sound system for entertainment; a DVD player is available on request. Across from the sofa, a rustic wooden dining table seats six in a cozy setting. The galley kitchen, defined by its streamlined white cabinetry, flows into the main living space. It’s fully equipped with high-end appliances: a microwave, a coffee machine, an espresso machine, a toaster, a blender, and a dishwasher. You’ll also find an ice maker, a kettle, and a juicer for fresh morning drinks. The dark countertops provide a sharp contrast to the bright white, and the space is designed so the cook never loses sight of the horizon.
Flanking the central living room, the two bedrooms are discreetly separated to guarantee privacy. They are similarly sized but each has its own distinctive character, sharing ensuite bathrooms with large showers adorned with pretty mosaic tiles and double sinks. Bedroom 1 is the primary suite, offering a vibrant jolt of personality. Its accent wall is a bold, vibrant blue, a striking contrast to the neutral living areas. The queen bed (5.91 by 6.56 feet) faces the view of the ocean, pool, and hills. It comes with air conditioning, a safe, and a JBL sound system; a printer is also provided here. The ensuite bathroom features a shower, but the luxury is just outside the door. This room opens onto a small, private garden featuring a lush green plant wall and its own outdoor shower. Across the villa, Bedroom 2 offers a different but equally vivid energy. Here, the accent wall is a vibrant green. It houses a queen bed (5.25 by 6.56 feet) and enjoys a serene outlook over the ocean and hills. This room is also air-conditioned and includes a safe and a JBL speaker. Its ensuite bathroom is equipped with a shower, finished with natural materials like driftwood for a tactile, organic feel. Wide window-doors open to let in the light and the breeze, ensuring the connection to the outdoors is never broken.
Outside, the terrace unfolds as a natural extension of the living room. The focal point is the 9.8 by 23-foot heated infinity pool, positioned between two separate grass lawns. It shimmers against the backdrop of the bay. A bed of white stones encircles the pool, establishing a serene, elemental setting. On the lawns, sun loungers await for sunbathing or reading sessions. Under the covered portion of the terrace, a shaded outdoor dining area comfortably seats four for alfresco meals any time of day. You can fire up the gas barbecue for an evening grill, and the outdoor WiFi ensures you’re connected as you relax on the sun deck. This is where you’ll spend hours, moving from the pool’s refreshment to the comfort of a lounger, with the gentle hills and ocean spread before you.
For guests dedicated to their wellness, a comprehensively outfitted fitness room occupies the villa's lower floor, providing a secluded workout area.
Open Space rests upon the slopes of Petit Cul de Sac, commanding serene views over the lagoon and its shoreline. This peaceful, secluded setting lies across the island from Gustavia.
